Top 10 Casual Looks for Upcoming Summer

upcoming Summer

We put a lot of thought into the clothing we wear. From the style to the label, for many people, every detail is planned, especially when you are heading to a big event.

However, not every day is a big event. That doesn’t mean, though, that you don’t want to look your best. In fact, done right, a casual outfit can have you looking just as good as you do in a more elegant setting.

To get you ready to look good in the heat, in this article we are going to look at the top 10 casual looks for the upcoming summer.

1. Brighten It Up

One thing that we’ve seen a lot of at fashion shows this year is bright, fun colors. This is a style that has most people thinking back to the 1980s with Cyndi Lauper-esque bodysuits and tights.

However, you don’t have to be decked out for the runway or have hair teased to the heavens to rock a bright color.

The simplest way to wear this trend is to throw on your favorite pair of jeans with a bright colored top. Of course, you can switch this up with a pair of bright jeans or even a pair of bright shoes if you’re feeling adventurous. So, don’t be afraid of color this summer!

2. Pastels Are Another Choice

Alternatively to bright colors, you can try on some pastels for size. Pastels are colors that are still considered on the more, well, colorful side of things but their hues are more subdued than the neons that come to mind when discussing bright colors.

These colors tend to favor shades like periwinkle, peach, and pale pink for example.

Much like we discussed with bright colors, you can incorporate these colors any way you want! A t-shirt or a dress is usually the simplest option.

3. Sheer Fabrics

Another trend that we saw a lot on the runways this year was the use of sheer fabrics. Of course, some of what we saw was rather drastic and left little to the imagination. While beautiful, this doesn’t work for most of us on a daily basis.

To make it more casual, try a sheer fabric as an accent to your outfit. For example, a solid skirt with a sheer top layer.

Another popular option that has been around for a while and is a perfect summer option is a sheer dress over a bathing suit. It won’t work everywhere but it is a fantastic choice for a lazy day at the beach or by the pool.

4. Sportswear

An old trend brought back, we have also seen big brands like Gucci embrace sportswear for more than just athletes.

The most common form of this that we see is a tracksuit – a trend that many will remember from its heyday in the 1990s. But, as this list continues to prove, designers are working hard to remake old trends again in 2018.

For a casual look, though, you don’t have to invest in a fashion powerhouse such as Gucci. In fact, you can even pair the tracksuit/sportswear look with the tip about bright colors and you’ll look great with little effort! As a plus, sportswear is actually pretty comfortable too – so, you don’t have to sacrifice yourself for a near effortless look.

5. Sneakers

Once you have your jeans and bright t-shirt on that we discussed earlier, you are left with one question: what shoes should you wear?

Well, the most comfortable option is, in this case, also the most fashionable – sneakers. In fact, if you want to wear a pair of chunky sneakers, that’s even better.

6. Maxi Dresses

A timeless staple to anyone’s wardrobe is a maxi dress. The best part about these is that you can customize the style by the design you choose.

For a girly look, a floral print is a fantastic option. If you want to try on a more bohemian look for size, though, looser fabric and earth tones are your friends.

7. Crop Tops

If you are looking to stay cool and show off a little skin this summer, you might want to consider a crop top.

Again, these are a rather versatile piece and you can choose how you want to look based on colors and styles. They even vary in how much skin they show so you can find exactly what you feel comfortable in.

8. Jean Shorts

Denim is a timeless go-to any time of the year. However, as the temperature rises, your favorite pair of jeans might be a bit too much for the heat.

So, trade them in for a pair of cutoffs! Once again, even though all your options are denim, you can vary style aspects like the length of the shorts and the color for an effortless look.

9. Rompers

Nothing is quite as effortless as an outfit that comes all in one piece. However, the standard sundress can get a little boring after a while. If you want something a little different to spice up your everyday look, try a romper!

10. Asymmetry

If you don’t want the same-old-same-old in your wardrobe, try mixing it up with shapes. Asymmetry is a great option in fashion and simple to achieve.

You can get it by wearing a one-shouldered top, for example, or a skirt that is long in the back and short in the front.

These eye-catching pieces are great if you want to stand out of a crowd with little effort.
